A Solstice Night in Paris | Uma noite de solsticio em Paris

A noite de 21 de junho foi a mais curta nas latitudes norte do planeta Terra, portanto, estando na latitude norte de 48,9 graus, Paris não foi exceção. Ainda assim, a Cidade Luz teve uma noite excepcionalmente luminosa. 

Seu ceu estava inundado por um brilho noturno prateado ou nuvens notilucentes após o pôr-do-sol do solsticio. Pairando nos limites do espaço, as condensações de gelo em poeira meteorica ou em cinzas vulcanicas ainda estavam sob plena luz solar às altitudes extremas da mesofera. 

Visiveis a altas latitudes nos meses de verão, os impressionantes e amplos espetaculos de nuvens notilucentes do norte estão sendo agora relatados.

The night of June 21 was the shortest night for planet Earth's northern latitudes, so at latitude 48.9 degrees north, Paris was no exception. Still, the City of Light had an exceptionally luminous evening. 

Its skies were flooded with silvery night shining or noctilucent clouds after the solstice sunset. Hovering at the edge of space, the icy condensations on meteoric dust or volcanic ash are still in full sunlight at the extreme altitudes of the mesophere. 

Seen at high latitudes in summer months, stunning, wide spread displays of northern noctilucent clouds are now being reported.
