Dizem que Orion sempre surge de lado, e assim ele parece fazer nesta fria noite de dezembro. As estrelas brilhantes da familiar constelação de inverno do norte situam-se bem acima dos topos nevados das arvores que circundam um aconchegante chalé próximo à cidade de Ustupky, na república Checa. Mas os meteoros de Gemini (Gêmeos) também parecem chover sobre a paisagem invernal.
As trilhas de meteoros são captadas em exposições registradas próximas os pico de sexta-feira da chava anual de meteoros das Geminidas. Eles formam uma trilha distanciando-se do radiante da chuva sobre as arvores, perto das duas estrelas brilhantes da constelação zodiacal dos Gêmeos. O Cometa Wirtanen, um visitante dos ceus do planeta Terra, também é visivel. Procure sua cabeleira caracteristica próximo às estrelas das sete irmãs.

They say Orion always comes up sideways, and he does seem to on this cold December night. The bright stars of the familiar northern winter constellation lie just above the snowy tree tops surrounding a cozy cottage near the town of Ustupky in the Czech Republic. But Gemini's meteors also seem to rain on the wintry landscape.
The meteor streaks are captured in exposures made near last Friday's peak of the annual Geminid meteor shower. They stream away from the shower's radiant above the trees, near the two bright stars of the zodiacal constellation of the Twins. Comet Wirtanen, a visitor to planet Earth's skies, is visible too. Look for its telltale greenish coma near the stars of the seven sisters.
