O brigadeiro da OTAN General Mark van Uhm, Chefe de Operações Aliadas, declarou que os ataques ream projetados para impedir o líder líbio de se comunicar com suas tropas, "O que conseguimos é que Gaddafi não pode usar suas forças como deseja. Ele não consegue lutar como gostaria.
" A televisão estatal líbia reportou que a aliança internacional atingiu três estações de comunicações em torno da cidade natal do coronel Gaddafi, Sirte, domingo, prejudicando as linhas telefônicas.
"As três estações proviam comunicações telefônicas entre cidadãos de várias partes da Líbia que garantiam serviços de comunicações para cidadãos entrarem em contato com brigadas de incêndio, hospitais e linhas de emergência," disse Mosbah Ali Ohwedy, engenheiro da Tel-Libya, à TV estatal.

Libyan state television reported that the international alliance had struck three communication stations around Col Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte on Monday, severing phone lines.
"The three stations provided telephone communications between citizens in various parts of Libya that ensured communication services for citizens to contact the fire brigades, hospitals and emergency lines," Mosbah Ali Ohwedy, an engineer for Tel-Libya, told state television.
The station towers that were hit provided communication between eastern and western Libya, he added.
