Shadow Rise on the Inside Passage | Sombra em elevação na Passagem Interna

Ao pôr-do-sol, olhe para o leste, e não para o oeste. Quando a sombra escura da Terra surge do horizonte leste, cores esaecidas e sutis aparecerão do lado oposto ao Sol poente. Esta bela paisagem matinal maritima e celeste registra a refletiva cena  em um cruzeiro na bem trafegada Alaskan Inside Passage, no noroeste do Pacifico. 

Ao longo do horizonte, o esmaecente pôr-do-sol abre alas para o rosado arco anti-crepusculo, mais  poeticamente chamado o Cinturão de Venus. Often overlooked ao pôr-do-sol em favor  do horizonte oeste mais brilhante, o adoravel arco é tingido pela luz solar filtrada espalhada de volta na densa atmosfera, abraçando a sombra azul-acinzentada do planeta em ascenção.

At sunset look east not west. As Earth's dark shadow rises from the eastern horizon, faint and subtle colors will appear opposite the setting Sun. This beautiful evening sea and skyscape records the reflective scene from a cruise on the well-traveled Alaskan Inside Passage in the Pacific Northwest. 

Along the horizon the fading sunset gives way to the the pinkish anti-twilight arch, more poetically known as the Belt of Venus. Often overlooked at sunset in favor of the brighter western horizon, the lovely arch is tinted by filtered sunlight backscattered in the dense atmosphere, hugging the planet's rising blue-grey shadow.
