Ibérica. Várias grandes regiões metropolitanas são claramente visíveis, inclusive Madri – localizada perto do centro do interior da península – e Lisboa, na costa sudoeste.
Embora mais escuras, as luzes da França podem ser vistas próximas à linha do horizonte, no canto superior esquerdo, enquanto as luzes do norte da África são mais fáceis de notar, à direita. A tênue linha dourado-esverdeada é um brilho atmosférico, causado pela radiação ultravioleta ao excitar as moléculas dos gases na atmosfera superior.

visible, including Madrid – located near the centre of the peninsula’s
interior – and Lisbon along the south-west coastline.
Though obscured, the lights of France are visible near the horizon line on the upper left, while the lights of northern Africa are more clearly discernable at right. The faint gold and green line is airglow, caused by ultraviolet radiation exciting the gas molecules in the upper atmosphere.
