Morning Glory Pool

Esta é a Morning Glory Pool, no Parque Nacional Yellowstone, Wyoming, América. A piscina era originalmente azul, mas sua coloração mudou ao longo dos anos devido a reações químicas causadas por turistas que atiravam moedas na sua água quente.

 Ao longo dos anos, as moedas e outros detritos entupiram as aberturas de calor da piscina, rezindo a temperatura da água e fazendo crescer diferentes tipos de bactérias, criando um anel vermelho e amarelo ao redor de um centro de puro azul. O consultor de TI  Arun Yenumula, que tirou a foto da piscina, disse: "Cada cor  representa um diferente tipo de alga em busca de calor".

Uma placa informativa próxima à piscina a chama de 'fading glory' (glória decadente) porque as pessoas atiram pedras, garrafas e latas, bloqueando as aberturas de aquecimento no fundo, o que faz a piscina esfriar.

As bactérias que crescem em águas realmente quentes começaram a morrer e as cores estão se esmaecendo. Eu fiquei realmente triste com o fato e como os humanos estão destruindo a beleza da natureza com suas atitudes impensadas."

This is the Morning Glory Pool in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, America. The pool was originally blue, but it has changed colour over the years due to chemical reactions caused by tourists throwing coins into its hot water.

Over the years the coins and other debris blocked the pool's heat vents, reducing the water's temperature and causing different types of bacteria to grow, creating a red and yellow ring around the pure blue centre. IT consultant Arun Yenumula, who took the photograph of the pool, sais: "Each colour represents a different type of heat-seeking algae.

An information board next to the pool calls it 'fading glory' because people threw rocks, stones, bottles and cans blocking the heat vents at the bottom, resulting in cooling the pool.

The bacteria which thrive in real hot water started to die and the colours are fading. I felt really sad about the fact and how humans are destroying nature's beauty with their mindless acts."
