O artista londrino Stephen Wiltshire desenha paisangens de cidades de memória. Ao apresentar suas últimas vistas panorâmicas este mês em sua galeria em Londres, ele diz a David Ferrarotto por que sua casa espiritual é Nova York.

Wiltshire, 35, passou uma semana em Nova York em Outubro de 2009, rascunhando sua obra prima no Instituto Pratt Institute, a mundialmente famosa  escola de arte e desenho.

Ele levou apenas seis dias para completar uma vista panorâmica com 20 pés ( 6,1 metros) da cidade de Nova York, que ele memorizou num vôo de helicóptero de apenas 20 minutos sobre a Ilha de Manhattan.

Stephen Wiltshire foi diagnosticado como autista quando criança e frequentou escolas especializadas de Londres, onde seu talento para o desenho foi descoberto.

Em 2005 ele desenhou uma impressionante vista detalhada de Tóquio em uma tela de 30 pés (10m), de memória. Desde então ele desenhou Roma, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Madrid, Dubai, Jerusalém e Londres gigantescas telas.

"A vista aérea pode ser difícil. As informações são difíceis de desenhar porque há muita informação sobre de várias janelas, parques e edifícios. É interessante desenhar cidades como Londres, Nova York e Los Angeles, quando a linha do horizonte muda ao longo dos anos. Em minha vida eu vi tantas mudanças no horizonte de Londres e Nova York; é muito estimulante." disse Stephen, 36.

Wiltshire, 35, spent a week in New York in October 2009, sketching his masterpiece at the Pratt Institute, the world-famous college of art and design.

He took just six days to complete a 20-foot panoramic view of New York City, which he memorised from only a 20-minute helicopter ride over Manhattan.

Stephen Wiltshire was diagnosed with Autism as a child and attended a specialist school in London where his talent for drawing was discovered.

"The aerial view can be difficult. The information is difficult to draw because there is so much information with lots of windows, park areas and buildings. It is interesting to draw cities like London, New York and LA as their skylines change throughout the years. In my life time I have seen so many changes to the London and New York skyline and it is very exciting." Stephen, 36, said.
