Você consegue ver a cabeça do cavalo? O que voce está vendo não é a famosa nebulosa da Cabeça do Cavalo proxima à constelação de Orion, mas, sim, uma nebulosa mais esmaecida que só assume uma forma mais familiar mediante imagens mais profundas.
A parte principal do complexo de nuvem molecular aqui fotografado é uma nebulosa de reflexão catalogada como IC 4592. Nebulosas de reflexão são, na verdade, compostas de poeira muito fina que normalmente aparenta ser escura, mas pode parecer muito azul ao refletir a luz de estrelas energeticas proximas.
Neste caso, a fonte de boa parte da luz refletida é uma estrela situada no olho do cavalo. A estrela é parte de Nu Scorpii, um dos mais brilhantes sistemas estelares proximos à constelação do Escorpião. Uma segunda nebulosa de reflexão chamada IC 4601 é visivel circundando duas estrelas à direita do centro da imagem.

Do you see the horse's head? What you are seeing is not the famous Horsehead nebula toward Orion but rather a fainter nebula that only takes on a familiar form with deeper imaging.
The main part of the here imaged molecular cloud complex is a reflection nebula cataloged as IC 4592. Reflection nebulas are actually made up of very fine dust that normally appears dark but can look quite blue when reflecting the light of energetic nearby stars.
In this case, the source of much of the reflected light is a star at the eye of the horse. That star is part of Nu Scorpii, one of the brighter star systems toward the constellation of the Scorpion (Scorpius). A second reflection nebula dubbed IC 4601 is visible surrounding two stars to the right of the image center.
