O que está sendo refletido no maior espelho do mundo? Estrelas, galaxias e um planeta. Muitas dessas estrelas estão confinadas ao grande arco que cruza a imagem, um arco que é o plano central da Via Lactea.
Dentro do arco há outra galaxia — a vizinha Grande Nuvem de Magalhães (LMC). Entre as estrelas que são individualmente visiveis estão Antares, à extrema esquerda, e Siria, à extrema direita. O planeta Jupiter brilha intensamente logo abaixo de Antares.
Esta foto é composta de 15 quadros verticais registrados consecutivamente ao longo de 10 minutos, na planície salina do Salar de Uyuni , na Bolivia. A planicie salina de Uyuni (Salar de Uyuni) é a maior planicie de sal da Terra, tão grande e extraordinariamente plana que, apos uma chuva, ela se torna o maior espelho do mundo — espalhando-se por 130 quilometros.
Este grande espelho foi fotografado no começo de abril refletindo cada uma das galaxias, estrelas e o planeta mentionados acima.

What's being reflected in the world's largest mirror? Stars, galaxies, and a planet. Many of these stars are confined to the grand arch that runs across the image, an arch that is the central plane of our home Milky Way Galaxy.
Inside the arch is another galaxy -- the neighboring Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). Stars that are individually visible include Antares on the far left and Sirius on the far right. The planet Jupiter shines brightly just below Antares.
The featured picture is composed of 15 vertical frames taken consecutively over ten minutes from the Uyuni Salt Flat in Bolivia. Uyuni Salt Flat (Salar de Uyuni) is the largest salt flat on Earth and is so large and so extraordinarily flat that, after a rain, it can become the world's largest mirror -- spanning 130 kilometers.
This expansive mirror was captured in early April reflecting each of the galaxies, stars, and planet mentioned above.
