Paralelas / Paralells

Ferrovia no Altiplano da Bolívia.A imagem inspira, à primeira vista, a pensar na estrada da vida, mas a reta não condiz com as curvas da vida, com a imprevisibilidade, a ilusão de controle que temos.

Não há controle absoluto de nada, além das nossas convicções, que, todavia, podem ser modificadas se a realidade vier a refutá-las.

O caráter, bem esse é o único de que se pode ter a certeza de imutabilidade, o que não garante totalmente a previsibilidade de nossos atos.

Mas o paralelismo dos trilhos lembra uma coisa interessante a respeito da vida: a coerência. Paralelas são, sempre, absolutamente coerentes.

There's no absolute control of anything beyond our convictions, which might be forced to change by reality, sometimes.

Character, well, this is the sole human characteristic that deserves the classification of unchangeable, which doesn't assure the complete predictability of our actions.

But the rails' paralellism reminds us of and interesting fact of life: coherence. Paralells are always absolutely coherent.
