Um novo estudo revelou que, apesar de seu tamanho reduzido, M60-UCD1 tem um buraco negro supermassivo em seu centro. Ela pode um dia ter sido uma galáxia muito maior, que teve suas camadas externas arrancadas pela gravidade de M60. Outra galáxia, NGC464, aparece no alto, à direita.

A new study has found that despite its small size, M60-UCD1 has a super-massive black hole at its centre. It may have once been a much larger galaxy that had its outer layers stripped away by M60's gravity. Another galaxy, NGC464, is top right.
