NGC 6334

A região de formação estelar  NGC 6334, uma das primeiras imagens científicas obtidas com o instrumento ArTeMiS no APEX. 

A foto mostra o brilho detectado a um comprimento de onda de 0,35 milímetro vindo de densas nuvens de grãos de poeira interestelar. 

As novas observações do ArTeMiS aparecem em laranja e foram superpostas em uma imagem da mesma região obtida em luz próxima ao infravermelho com o telescópio VISTA da Agência Espacial Europeia, em Paranal, no Chile.

The picture shows the glow detected at a wavelength of 0.35 millimetres coming from dense clouds of interstellar dust grains. 

The new observations from ArTeMiS show up in orange and have been superimposed on a view of the same region taken in near-infrared light by ESO's VISTA telescope at Paranal. Chile.
