Chávez foi submetido a uma cirurgia em Cuba há duas semanas e tem estado incomumente silencioso, desde então. Aliados de Chávez têm insistido em que o líder está firme no controle do país e se recupera de uma operação de abcesso pélvico.

Chavez underwent surgery in Cuba two weeks ago and has been unusually quiet since then. Allies of Chavez have insisted the leader is firmly in control of the country and is recovering from an operation for a pelvic abscess.
