New spider / Nova aranha

Uma equipe de cientistas da Universidade de Haifa descobriu uma anteriormente desconhecida espécie de aranha, Cerbalus Aravensis nas dunas de areia da região sul de Arava, Israel.

Os pesquisadores disseram que é uma das maiores aranha de seu tipo, e que constroi uma toca subterrânea, que é fechada com uma 'porta levadiça' feita de partículas de areia que são coladas em conjunto, para formar uma camuflagem.

A team of University of Haifa scientists have discovered a previously unknown species of spider Cerbalus Aravensis in the sand dunes of the southern Arava region of Israel.

The researchers said it is one of the largest spiders of its kind and that it constructs an underground den, which is closed with a 'lifting door' made of sand particles that are glued together to provide camouflage.
