E o ex-presidente americano Bill Clinton foi à Coréia do Norte e conseguiu o impossível do ditador Kim Jong-il: a libertação das duas jornalistas americanas presas por Pyongyang por "espionagem".

Clinton chegou de volta aos EUA quarta pela manhã após uma dramática visita de 20 horas à Coréia do Norte, onde conseguiu libertar as jornalistas Laura Ling, 32 e Euna Lee, 36, abriu um canal diplomático com o fechado governo da Pyongyang, e ainda jantou com o líder doente, Kim Jong-il.

Former President Bill Clinton arrived in the United States Wednesday morning after a dramatic 20-hour visit to North Korea, in which he won the freedom of two American journalists, opened a diplomatic channel to North Korea’s reclusive government and dined with the North’s ailing leader, Kim Jong-il.

The American journalists Laura Ling, 32, and Euna Lee, 36, were imprisoned under charges of "espionage". They work for Al Gore. I may not be a passioned fan of mr. Clinton, who, like me and anyone else, has his bad characteristics, but some virtue, too.

And he managed to do what was seemingly impossible, releasing the two women. Bingo! Veni, Vidi, Vici.
