Não se assuste (ainda), não é no Brasil. A febre do terceiro mandato agora atinge a Algéria, na África. O presidente Abdelaziz Buteflika, de 72 anos, que governar o país por mais cinco anos. Como? Ora, basta mudar a Constituição, como fazem as republiquetas.

Eleito em 1999, Buteflika alterou a Constituição da Argélia em outubro de 2008, tornando a reeleição infinita, como pretende fazer na Venezuela o presidente bolivariano Hugo Chávez.

O país depende integralmente das exportações de petróleo e gás, que contituem 98% do total. A população é de 34 milhões de habitantes.

The third term fever has reached Algiers, in Africa, where president Abdelaziz Buteflika, 72, intends to command the conutry for another five-year period. How? Weel, it's just a metter of changing the Constitution, as banana republics use to do.

Elect in 1999, Buteflika managed to modify the Constitution in October, allowing infinite re-elections. The country is totally dependent on oil & gas exports, around 98% of the total. The population is 34 million inhabitants.
