Sabaj

Existem cerca de 11.000 palestinos em prisões israelenses, cujos nomes são desconhecidos, e não são raros os que foram torturados, o chamado " sabaj", que consiste em pendurar o interrogado, nu, com os braços sobre a cabeça ou as costas.

Sawson, uma mulher palestina, relata que foi insultada e golpeda, de olhos vendados. Diz ter permanecido 20 dias incomunicável, sem advogado, sem direito a um telefonema nem a cuidados médicos, numa cela úmida e escura. Nenhuma acusação formal. Diz ter conhecido colegas de cela que foram violentadas, que engravidaram e tiveram os filhos lá mesmo, e algumas morreram no parto.

There are about 11,000 palestinians in israeli prisons, whose names are unknown, not rarely submited to torture, the so-called "Sabaj", that consists in hanging the naked prisoner with the arms on the head or on the back.

Sawson, a palestine woman, says she was insulted and hit, blindfold. She says she was maintained totally incommunicable, whitou the right to see a lawyer or make a phone call for 20 days in a dark, humid jail. No formal charges at all. She reports having met cell mates who had been violated and became pregnant, bearing their children right there. Some died during labor.
