Matti Juhani Saari is the name of the man who shot ten people at a finnish school, who eventually died at the hospital.

The picture shows the gun he used, a prosaic Walther caliber .22 (the smallest caliber available) german pistol.

Police were alerted to a clip posted on the video sharing website showing a young man wielding a handgun at a shooting range, the country's interior minister, Anne Holmlund, said.

She said the man arrested, identified by the school's headmaster as Matti Juhani Saari, had a temporary permit for a .22 calibre pistol and that the permit had not been withdrawn .

"Police reached him on Monday, Sept 22, and asked him to be interviewed regarding the shooting video," Ms Holmlund said. He was later released

Another clip is titled "Me and my Walther P22 Target" and shows the same man standing sideways-on, firing several rounds from a handgun.

Those aged 15 and over are allowed to apply for a gun licence with parental permission.

So, the tragedy, except for the police's incompetence, is not surprising.

O incrível da história é que a polícia foi alertada para o videoclipe postado por ele no YouTube, no qual aparecia atirando e fazendo ameaças. Uma tragédia anunciada, que ocorreu por omissão da polícia local.

Anne Holmlund, ministra do Interior, informou que Saari fora identificado, preso e interrogado.Ele tinha uma licença temporária de posse da pistola calibre 22, que não foi cancelada, nem a arma foi apreendida.

A polícia o localizou em 22 de setembro, mas libertou-o no mesmo dia, após seu depoimento. Outro clipe encontrado era intitulado "Eu e minha Walther P 22 Target.

Na Finlândia, qualquer um a partir de 15 anos pode ter uma arma, com a permissão dos pais.

Logo, a tragédia, exceto pela inépcia e omissão da polícia, não surpreende ninguém.
