O general David Petraeus atendeu a imprensa à saída de Downing Street, 10, onde se encontrou com o premiê britânico Gordon Brown.

Petraeus assumirá o Comando Militar Central, responsável por assuntos militares por toda a Ásia Central e o Oriente Médio, além do Golfo Pérsico. O general foi comandante das forças americanas de ocupação no Iraque.

Gen. David Petraeus spoke to the media as he left 10 Downing Street in London after a meeting with Prime Minister Gordon Brown of Britain.

Petraeus will soon take over as commander of the American military's Central Command, responsible for military issues across Central Asia and the Middle East, and throughout the Persian Gulf. He's the former commander of the american forces in Iraq.
