The Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, is illuminated for the Bandi-Chhor Divas, which commemorates the return of the sixth guru, Sri Hargobind Ji, to the holy city after his release from detention. The Sikh celebration coincides this year with the Hindu festival of Diwali, or festival of lights.
