Nesta imagem aparece o sistema Terra-Lua, fotografado pela espaçonave da missão Cassini, orbitando Saturno no Sistema Solar mais externo.
A Terra é o mais brilhante dos dois pontos próximos ao centro, enquanto a Lua é visível à sua esquerda, embaixo (imperceptível nesta foto, mas fácil de ver em outra, mostrada em outro post aqui no blog). A imagem, sem tratamento, mostra várias riscas, que não são estrelas, mas, sim, raios cósmicos que atingiram a câmera digital enquanto ela tirava as fotos.
A imagem foi obtida pela Cassini sexta-feira passada, e divulgada sábado. Aproximadamente ao mesmo tempo, vários humanos na Terra estavam fotografando Saturno.
Assim dá para termos uma ideia mais clara, caros leitores, do minúsculo ponto que somos na imensidão do Universo

Earth is the brighter of the two spots near the center, while the Moon is visible to its lower left (nearly imperceptible here, but easily visible in another picture posted here in the blog). The unprocessed image shows several streaks that are not stars but rather cosmic rays that struck the digital camera while it was taking the image.
The image was snapped by Cassini on Friday and released on Saturday. At nearly the same time, many humans on Earth were snapping their own pictures of Saturn.
Thus, we can have a clearer idea, dear readers, of the minuscule dot that is us in the immensity of the Universe.
